Question: How are you supporting other local businesses?
Answer: Well Seasoned supports other local businesses by providing them with a retail outlet to feature their products. We carry hundreds of locally made, small-batch products, many products you won’t find anywhere else.
We buy fresh meat, produce and seafood for our kitchen from a ton of local businesses. In our retail store, we sell products made by at least 40 local suppliers, including Gone Crackers, Fraser Valley Gourmet Caramel Crunch Popcorn, Monsoon Coast Spice, Saltwest Naturals Canadian Sea Salt,Sriracha Revolver Hot Sauces, The Preservatory Artisanal Preserves, Walter Craft Caesar Mix and so many more! We’re always on the hunt for the best local products.
We also support local service providers. We use B.C.-based companies for 100% of our services – all our banking, accounting, legal and other services. For instance, we bank at Vancity, our accountant is a Langley-based Certified General Accountant, and our lawyer is also Langley-based.
Question: What social and environmental practices are you proud of?
Answer: Socially, we are proud to support several local non-profits. We prepare & donate a high tea every Friday for the residents of the Langley Hospice, understanding the joy & comfort it brings the families at the residence makes it one of the most incredibly rewarding things we do. We take our role in the community seriously, especially when it comes to supporting local charities. In 2019 alone, we donated about 3% of our revenue to local charities.
We make every effort to reduce our environmental impact. We use only recyclable paper bags, never any plastic, and where possible our catering materials are completely biodegradable. We also sell products like Kattinatt Swedish Dishcloths and Abeego Bees Wax Wraps in our store to help our customers reduce their waste and help home cooks lessen their use of plastic wrap and tinfoil.
