We focus on Canadian diamonds and Canadian designers as much as possible – our products range from exquisite engagement rings to handmade gold jewellery from Vancouver Island to sterling silver fashion pieces. Our Canadian diamonds are mined in the Northwest Territories and Canadian gold is sourced from Ontario. Owned and operated by locals Lana and Nicole, with friendly and cheerful staff who will guide you in choosing the ideal gift or knowledgeably explain what is involved in repairing that treasured family heirloom.
Question: How are you supporting other local businesses?
Answer: We buy Canadian Maple Leaf Diamonds and Canadian gold. We love Canadian stones and metals since we know they are conflict-free, mined according to strict environmental standards, and they support Canadian jobs and social programs. We support Canadian designers using Canadian sourced materials.
We use B.C.-based goldsmiths for our custom design work and customer repair work. We bank locally with BlueShore Financial in Whistler. We purchase from local businesses based in B.C whenever possible. We get print services from Garibaldi Graphics in Squamish & Whistler, signage from Cutting Edge Signs in Whistler, and we work with Whistler Creative for graphic design. Our legal services are with Mountain Law, we use a local courier company, we get information technology services from Control Alt Delete and CustomFit Online in Pemberton for our website support.
Question: What social and environmental practices are you proud of?
Answer: We support Canadian environmental, social and labour standards when we buy Canadian metals and conflict free diamonds. We are a member of the Canadian Jewellers Association. Their Code of Ethics holds our industry to the highest standards of ethics and social responsibility, so we’ve committed to ensure that all our diamonds from all our suppliers are conflict-free.
We love to donate and support local organizations. We have a few collections where we donate a portion of the proceeds to charity. We donate 10% of the sales of the Jeanie Bear Collection to the Get Bear Smart Society who work to minimize bears at risk due to human interaction. Our Maple Leaf Collection has actual maple leaves that are gold, silver or copper dipped and we donate $10 from each leaf sold to B.C. Children’s Hospital to support sick kids. We also support Squamish Hospital Foundation, Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, Howe Sound Women’s Centre, Whistler Animals Galore (WAG) Animal Shelter, and the annual Whistler Father Daughter Dance to name a few.
