Baaad Anna’s Yarn Store

Paula took ownership from Anna in April 2015 and has been in knit heaven ever since! Having knit for over ten years learning from friends and family, she values the community this has created for her. Building on the amazing foundation that Anna has laid, Paula aims to continue forming a space where people can come together and learn from each other. From this, she hopes that this will create the same sense of community she has felt while crafting, creating, and conspiring!

Paula bikes from the Renfrew Heights neighbourhood just up the street from the store, raising two little humans and two mischievous cats alongside a very patient and supportive partner.

Question: How are you supporting other local businesses?

Answer: We give focus to indie and local (not always one and the same) and carry several BC-based yarn dyers and even farmed products. Also, we supply local artists and businesses with the fibre arts materials they use to create their work (ie. @holmanwang & @lovesfelt)

Question: What social and environmental practices are you proud of?

Answer: We believe that having a positive role in our community is a part of being a healthy, vibrant business! We also proudly support local talent through trunk shows of local knitwear designers and dyers, co-hosting fibre-themed events and fundraising and donating within our local community. We work to support our community with accessible yarn through our Fibre Library project; Fibre Libraries are spaces for you to take or leave fibre arts materials in your community.
