Question: How are you supporting other local businesses?
Answer: It’s all about locals helping locals around here. Part of our mission is to create an artist hub, a place where local artists can sell their merch after the events have ended and for times like these past few years where no shows can be offered. SFSW also offers those artists a space on our website for their merch with worldwide shipping options opening up more avenues for both sales and promotions. We already have a few locals selling their art (canvas) and gear out of our store.
Question: What social and environmental practices are you proud of?
Answer: We just opened so it’s just my biz partner Austin and myself that man the store as well as my wife doing our social media when she is able. That being said this past winter we did a coat and blanket drive for the DTES of Vancouver. It was our first annual one but we collected a decent amount from our clients and business community. We plan on many more drives because we are only as strong as our weakest link. And if you find a weak link you don’t throw away the whole chain, you reinforce that link and help make it strong maybe even stronger then the rest! That is how I see our society, a human link and we have to strengthen those of us who need the help so that the whole is strong in the process.
