Chew on This Tasty Tours offers curated culinary tours. Starting their operations in Fort Langley in 2020, amidst the pandemic, and now serving several other communities on the Lower Mainland. Guests simply show up to these all-inclusive food-focused adventures. No need to decide where to go, what to do, and what to eat. We take care of the details. From high tea at a Parisienne bistro to gourmet bites and flights in a wine bar; a glimpse of a restaurant that’s booked up three weeks in advance and a world-renowned chocolatier we’ve got your exclusive tasting as a guest of Chew On This Tasty Tours.
All of our tours look at communities through a culinary lens, including walking tours to experience the local food scene, more focused deep dive tours (typically 4-5 hours to meet the owners, chefs, and workers), and self-directed tours (you are told where to go (in the nicest way possible) and your hosts are expecting you in whichever community you choose!). In two years we have gone from one to five communities and we currently have 8 tours available; both walking and driving. They are private tours. You decide how many people to go with. Some folks go in pairs and others take their whole book club!
We also curate custom corporate events for a team building, sales incentive packages and real estate agent gifts.
On some of our tours, we offer “tasty totes” that offer a variety of small-batch and locally-produced food and drink products to keep the local tastings going long after the tour is complete. Some examples of local brands featured in these tote bags are UMAMI Crave the Fifth, Wize Tea, and Kindred Cultures. Our business exists to support small businesses. We support the makers, bakers, artists, owners, brewers, roasters, and restaurateurs.
And we support the Chefs. With our newest program called ‘With The Chef’ we are facilitating culinary connections between Chefs and guests. Guests arrive for a Chef-selected meal with lots of interaction from the Chef throughout the meal and a private one-on-one over dessert at the end of the evening.
Question: How are you supporting other local businesses?
Answer: We are a 100% locally owned small business and we 100% support locally owned small businesses. Our destination hosts are not expected to donate the food they give as tastings. This is a no-risk opportunity to highlight their business and gain new customers. Currently, we are working with approximately 60 different small businesses and producers all over BC!
Question: What social and environmental practices are you proud of?
Answer: Many of our tours are on foot, all businesses are local and most seek to source their products and production as locally as possible.
Our Tasty totes are a reusable cotton canvas for durability.
By focusing on and featuring small businesses we are supporting their success through our
patronage as a tour operator, through advertising and social media features.
