Question: How are you supporting other local businesses?

Answer: We #supportlocal every chance we get! We believe strong neighbourhood connections are the foundation of a happy and healthy community. By partnering with many local businesses such as Cobb’s Bread 72nd, Altemeaker Deli, EoHealing, Teva Medical & IV Center, and Natural Focus Foods for giveaways such as our annual anniversary online block party in July where we feature upwards of 20 businesses gaining them followers and engagement with our combined communities in a fun and inclusive way. In addition, we are always quick to share and engage on other small businesses’ social postings and offer coupons to neighbouring businesses to our student base.

Question: What social and environmental practices are you proud of?

Answer: We are very involved in our community! We run various fundraisers throughout the year supporting animal advocacy, mental health, and women in need. We’ve run fundraisers such as “NamaSlay Metal Yoga and/or Barre” to support community mental health programs through Deltassist.

We advocate and support local animal shelters and rescues through fundraisers like Dog, Cat, or Bunny Yoga. We hold that here at the studio or out at the Perfect Pastures Animal Sanctuary (PPAS) in the summer, where you can adopt pets, raising awareness and funds for animals cared for by Delta Community Animal Shelter and PPAS. Our founder Jenine also volunteers and runs fundraising initiatives, rescue animal pick-up, administrative duties and of course, playing with the animals at PPAS in her “spare time”.
We continue to support those in need with various crowdsourcing, such as Moontime Sisters BC, to raise funds, awareness, and female sanitary products for girls and women in our northern communities. Most recently, we partnered with Nightshift Ministries for #socktober and collected over 125 pairs of new warm socks given to the homeless.
