Squamish Connector

Squamish Connector is a family owned and operated company that was established in 2014. We focus on serving the transportation needs of the Squamish community, and on helping the environment by reducing single occupancy vehicles and carbon emissions within the Sea to Sky corridor. The community of Squamish keeps growing and there is a greater demand for commuter transportation to and from Vancouver. The Squamish Connector strives on being the transportation solution for Squamish. Our main emphasis is to serve the everyday commuters by offering them a safe, reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally conscious method of transportation to Vancouver and the North Shore. We provide visitors access to the outdoor capital of Canada and we are the exclusive shuttle of the Sea to Sky Gondola. We are proud to be a Squamish-based company!

Question: How are you supporting other local businesses?

Answer: We love the community and support local businesses here whenever we can. We bank with Vancity, we use Good 2 Go Tirecraft for our tires, Inbiz for all our printing needs, and Advance Trucking for repair and maintenance of our buses. For web design and management we use Opes Consulting Co. and Grassroots Agency for our social media and marketing.

We are the transportation to some of Squamish’s main attractions, like the Sea to Sky Gondola, and also offer transportation to many other tourism attractions and activities in town (Squamish Rafting, Corsa Cycles, Rope Runner, Squamish Adventure Inn and others) to help them reach a larger demographic, by bringing up their customers from the city.

Question: What social and environmental practices are you proud of?

Answer: We are one of the only forms of alternative transportation for people within the Squamish community, so our business itself helps reduce the carbon footprint of our passengers and community, by reducing single occupancy vehicles along the sea to sky highway.  We offer transportation for commuters, locals and tourists between Vancouver, the North Shore and Squamish. We purchase brand new vehicles that have the lowest carbon emissions possible.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued to keep as many departures as possible to help people get around, to and from medical and other essential appointments in the city. We are a family business and the team of husband, wife, son, and limited employees kept the business going during this time, so we could keep it an affordable service and not interrupt transportation for those who needed it. We also ran the Adventure Shuttle all season this year to provide access to local attractions and help locals keep up with outside activities. Our commitment to our customers was recognized with a Service Excellence Award by the Squamish Chamber of Commerce at the 2019 Squamish Business Excellence Awards. We were also a finalists in 2019 at the Small Business BC Awards in the category of Best Community Impact.

We’re proud to create good jobs in our community. We are a family business and work to extend that family atmosphere in our business to all our employees. The people that work with us are part of the team and the family. We try to get together 2-3 times each year as a team.

Our drivers are all from Squamish; we support our drivers in any way we can. They need a day off – one of us will cover their shift, no problem. And we are in close communications with them throughout the day, so that keeps us close and connected.

We support local charities whenever we can. We provide discounted rates to several organizations, including Squamish Helping HandsHowe Sounds Women’s Centre, and Soroptimist to help them get around more affordably. We also donate round trip tickets to silent auctions, provide prizes for the Squamish Chamber business awards, and the local high school. We provide transportation to events around town like the Squamish 50 race and Squamish Day Loggers Sport Festival. At the end of the day it’s a community and it’s good to know that we can help and be part of the community. We concentrate in Squamish, it’s our town and we proud of it!
