Answer: We do our best to source locally whenever we can! 100% of our inventory purchases are from Canadian or local suppliers. However, unfortunately a large percentage of the products purchased through our suppliers are sourced from out of country, but we are working on changing this.We buy 100% of our business support services – our accounting, banking, construction, legal, advertising, recycling, compost & waste management and other services – from B.C. owned and operated firms. We also do our best to purchase eco-friendly products, and to buy from social enterprises, women and minority owned businesses.

Question: What social and environmental practices are you proud of?

Answer: We are committed to our team. We continuously invest in health and safety programs, practices and procedures, ensuring the highest quality of service is delivered in the safest possible way. Our goal is to move all employees to the livable wage after 3-6 months probation period has ended, and provide incentives with further profit sharing models. We are working creating a job training platform through our business for the young people coming out of and through programs like The Foundry. We always utilize eco-friendly and environmentally conscious products, practices and technologies. We use 100% biodegradable probiotic cleaning products for a number of our cleaning services, meaning no chemicals getting back to the environment! We plan to operate a 100% electric service vehicle and equipment fleet by end of 2020.

We actively look for ways to contribute to the betterment of society daily by creating inclusion and opportunities for all individuals while maintaining consistency in our values and actions. Our company goal is to donate at least 10% of net profits back to local organizations each year. For example, we support The Foundry, Special Olympics and Children’s Hospital.
